People need to adjust their expectations
There are people who spend many thousands of £/$/ر.ق
There are people who play the game 24/7
If you want to keep up with those people and compete you have to do the same
Choosing not to do the same is completely fine, but you have to understand that you won't be competing with the same people and doing the same things
I've massively reduced my time and spending and I'm having exactly the same amount of fun as I had before, because I've changed my expectations to match my commitment
It's a fantasy game, it's core is about roleplaying and adventure. Those things require a bit of imagination and play
If you are focused on being the best but aren't going to commit as much as the best, then you're only setting yourself up for disappointment and ultimately boredom as a consequence of frustration
Little changes like adding buffs or extra moons or extra bosses or anything like that will benefit the 24/7 players more than it benefits anyone else, so will make the gap even wider and the problem will be even worse than it is now. It will make the game more fun for a day, specifically the first day the new lunar event happens, after that it'll just be back to the same grind and you've campaigned for nothing
There always needs to be a careful balance, 24/7 players need to get some benefit from playing so much, they need that time spent to correspond to having something or being able to do something that other players don't get to enjoy, otherwise why would they bother grinding so hard? The same applies to big spenders, if spending money doesn't give you any advantage why would anyone spend money? At the same time, players who don't want to do that and just want to casually enjoy a game need to be able to access high level content or it'll feel like too much of a mountain to climb to ever have a hope of competing
You're not going to like this, but honestly, with a few notable exceptions such as EM and the weekly challenges, the balance actually sits not too bad. If you want to just chill and enjoy low and mid level content you absolutely can, if you want to work hard and grind and compete for higher level stuff you absolutely can
The majority of complaints tend to be from people who get boosted and subsidised by other players through the low and mid levels and have forgotten how to grind, then they get to relatively high level with no knowledge of how to actually progress properly and as soon as the help dries up they switch to "this game is dead" mode. This is why I'm always keen to engage new players with advice and guidance but try to avoid too much in the way of hand outs, because the whole point of the game is to enjoy the adventure and if someone just wants to skip all that and get to the top to fight people then maybe Call of Duty is more suitable
I started playing Arcadia in 2018 and people were saying that now, there's a continuous but small outflow of people who can't make their own fun, claiming the game is dead and going off to do something else, and at the same time there's just as many new players coming in. The number of active players today is more than it was 7 years ago, so claims that the server is dead are clearly nonsense
