Moon Phases - Mini Events

Hi,

The moon goes through 8 phases we all know we have the 4 main phases here on Arcadia.

  • New moon
  • First quarter
  • Full moon
  • Third quarter
In between these 4 phases we have:

  • Waxing crescent
  • Waxing gibbous
  • Waning gibbous
  • Waning crescent
Would it not be possible to implement something very simple for these additional phases to give people motivation to grind and prevent boredom etc

Definitely not EXP based, but maybe things like (More Champ bosses only, or additional bosses / lords spawn for this particular Moon phase)

Maybe Lords from OG like Mongchon Lord etc etc i dunno, sure something could be sorted, even basic buffs or more sieges etc

I`d be intrigued to here others thoughts and ideas on this

Peace

I'm just here hoping for a video of someone waxing a Gibbon
Ahh very constructive, thanks... Had a feeling you would be the type to watch a man Waxing his back ;)

On the topic i`m sure he could call them something else. I am bored shitless on here atm and ill prob do what most others have soon, go to another server and wait for an event to return.

Don't you think it would take away from the excitement of a lunar event. Because we'd pretty much always be within one of those 8 phases

Ye get what ya mean but if its just something simple each time, the main Lunar events would still be attractive, lets be honest only 2 of the 4 are worth ya time anyway but like i said something is better and nothing i tend to be online as much as possible for all of them

Would be nice to see something different during the lunar as it’s been the same for ever. Change around the blend of buffs as some are op (new moon) and some are rubbish (first 1/4)

I personally dont see the problem of an additional Boss/Lord being active under a certain stage of a Moon Phase, this would create something to Fight for too like old OKS fights etc

Maybe small buffs and seiges only has to be a 24 hour thing, least its something

Bring back old OKS fights :) once a day boss we can all fight over :D god them days were good. I used to have screen shots of some good euro fights but lost them all now :(

There's lots of opportunity for that here, still get server shouts for 150-160 bosses (EM + Lord of the Dead)

Supers, champs etc etc.. the game is what you make it

Not really bro, why does a level 195+ want to go kill a 150-160 boss dude, super or not? Maybe get some sort of rune if ya lucky, defo not worth fighting and dropping kit for.

Super/Champ subs and bosses also get announced server wide. Hellmouth, Elysium, Marble ST, providing the opportunity to go and have a mass brawl. Anyway mate, the point I'm trying to make is.. nostalgia is a real thing. Reality is the same people get the kill because server is dominated atm. I don't like server announcements because you are really just hoping nobody is online or if they are, they are too busy to interfere.

Would be much nicer if these super/champ bosses were not announced server wide and it was just a nice suprise to come across it when on a normal hunt. Gives the non PvP players a chance

Something needs to happen, i know of at least 5 people who have left the server since Christmas because of boredom and like Bond has suggested, domination over certain aspects.

The playing field needs to be level for it to be engaging. I really just enjoy the quiet life on mir atm. Cant keep up with the big spenders

People need to adjust their expectations

There are people who spend many thousands of £/$/ر.ق
There are people who play the game 24/7
If you want to keep up with those people and compete you have to do the same

Choosing not to do the same is completely fine, but you have to understand that you won't be competing with the same people and doing the same things

I've massively reduced my time and spending and I'm having exactly the same amount of fun as I had before, because I've changed my expectations to match my commitment

It's a fantasy game, it's core is about roleplaying and adventure. Those things require a bit of imagination and play

If you are focused on being the best but aren't going to commit as much as the best, then you're only setting yourself up for disappointment and ultimately boredom as a consequence of frustration

Little changes like adding buffs or extra moons or extra bosses or anything like that will benefit the 24/7 players more than it benefits anyone else, so will make the gap even wider and the problem will be even worse than it is now. It will make the game more fun for a day, specifically the first day the new lunar event happens, after that it'll just be back to the same grind and you've campaigned for nothing

There always needs to be a careful balance, 24/7 players need to get some benefit from playing so much, they need that time spent to correspond to having something or being able to do something that other players don't get to enjoy, otherwise why would they bother grinding so hard? The same applies to big spenders, if spending money doesn't give you any advantage why would anyone spend money? At the same time, players who don't want to do that and just want to casually enjoy a game need to be able to access high level content or it'll feel like too much of a mountain to climb to ever have a hope of competing

You're not going to like this, but honestly, with a few notable exceptions such as EM and the weekly challenges, the balance actually sits not too bad. If you want to just chill and enjoy low and mid level content you absolutely can, if you want to work hard and grind and compete for higher level stuff you absolutely can

The majority of complaints tend to be from people who get boosted and subsidised by other players through the low and mid levels and have forgotten how to grind, then they get to relatively high level with no knowledge of how to actually progress properly and as soon as the help dries up they switch to "this game is dead" mode. This is why I'm always keen to engage new players with advice and guidance but try to avoid too much in the way of hand outs, because the whole point of the game is to enjoy the adventure and if someone just wants to skip all that and get to the top to fight people then maybe Call of Duty is more suitable

I started playing Arcadia in 2018 and people were saying that now, there's a continuous but small outflow of people who can't make their own fun, claiming the game is dead and going off to do something else, and at the same time there's just as many new players coming in. The number of active players today is more than it was 7 years ago, so claims that the server is dead are clearly nonsense

You're absolutely right in what you are saying but people still have a right to request changes. I mean most people do spend money and £28.99 can mean more to someone than £198.98 does to somebody else it's all subjective so when the topic of money comes into the game it can be offensive to say to somebody they don't spend enough.

I hate to bring it back round to ElysianOre but it is a bit of a problem. The 24/7 players always had something to grind for, levels and exp, bragging rights. Thats what mir is about. We are now seeing kits near max elemental dmg, max resistances, max physical/magic/soul attack power, with many many +15 E runes, and +1500 HP

That is pretty nuts and fair play to them for achieving it, but how come it was allowed to happen, shouldn't these consequences be thoroughly tested before being released and letting people spending £1000's before we realise "oh we might've broken it"

So many guilds are PVE now. And they announce it and wear it like a badge because they know they have zero chance in pvp anyway due to the excessive damage that has been allowed to be achieved. An to he clear, the damage has always been an issue on arc, but now we have the damage plus the resistance all on a single kit, which will be used easily for the next 2/3 years unless an update to open up to level 250 happens soon and allows us all to get away from the madness.

Why not even something as simple as Guild buffs, similar to shields ? Guild has to be a certain level to receive a % of the Buff etc

What we’re facing in Arc feels like this: “I can’t do it, so why should anyone else be able to? If I can’t fight that person, no one should.” But that’s not how things work.

People often forget that it’s not just 24/7 players who progress—many have invested money to get orbs. Then, someone returns after a long break and says, “This is unfair! We can’t do that!” But the reality is that the game evolves. End-game kits exist because people worked for them when they were released. If you were there at the time, you’d have had the same chance. As Zade said, he made three orbs by himself if you really need something, you can work for it too. Stop making things harder on yourself and constantly asking GMs to remove this or that.

And about wars when I bring people to fight, I honestly don’t understand why some get so mad. Your numbers are often bigger than ours! I’m just here to have fun in the game.
