Yh I defo see your point mate like I found extremely frustrating trying to get them skills but tbf I just kinda accepted the fact ima go have to buy them and now obviously I don’t need any skills but tht doesn’t help the lower lvls tht do and don’t want to invest . Now I do believe tht scorp did try do something to resolve this in a event where books was just dropping stupidly but think if got abit of backlash because of how they was dropping so much so it is trying to find that balance. Now you probably already know this but traders will have skills you might not expect if you keep checking them might come across them I found call of the pheonix on bw one which I thought was mad I paid full price for mine before the skills books went all to 100gg on gameshop.

I will say tho I think items and skills right now are cheap when I first played I remember cele arm going for like 5k obviously now it’s Elysian atm but then I don’t think even a fresh Elysian is going for that (not that I seen) so stuff is a lot cheaper now then why it use to be apart from runes they seem to be the only thing tht stays the same . Even goldbars they was going for 30+ Gg now they were going for 10 few weeks back so things are alot easier to obtain then what they use to be .
My advice would be to anyone if you can buy some Gg grab your skills can find most of them on ah or Gg shop there going to be useful for your whole Mir experience so there worth it in my opinion 💁‍♂️.
That's sad tbh, having to spend real life money to have basic stuff on an mmo because it is very frustratingly difficult to find LOW level books......

I remember was the same on project 69 i farmed 1 YEAR for TDB and it DID NOT DROP so i was forced into buying it from the gameshop
after buying it from the gameshop i still farmed for another year then finally got it drop and i just gave it out to a new player.

Leveling is fine as is. Gear and book drops need a serious looking at.

The reason noob island was such a great success was simple.

It dropped books and gear consistently for your level. Outside of noob island is trash for drops and gear.

I agree with this, I hope gm takes this into consideration as its ridiculous atm, I have yet to see a celestial item drop

I keep telling people, gear and books drive people.

Someone lent me a 900 hp belt when I was 160. That boost in hp drove me to grind from 160 to 174 in 11 days In naga gp. Ask anyone that knows me. If it werent for that one person loaning a random ass stranger an item, it never would have happened.

Another random person gave me my frozen orbs book. Without that I still wouldn’t have it to this day.

My brother found my cele armour in the armour lady in arcane wall. If it werent for that I’d still be in holy crystal armour. I wouldnt have made the push during easter to 187.

Someone sold me an upgraded holy crystal staff at a ridiculously low price.

The list is endless. I can’t even begin to list what people have done for me before 160.

But the reality is, if it weren’t for any one of these things happening to help me progress, I would either a.) still be under 170 or b.) long quit the game.

It’s as simple as that.

I spend the majority of my time now farming books for guild members. I have a list on our discord of who needs what. Spells ranging from 103 to 172. None of which I can get to drop, and nor can they. It’s maddening tbh.

it is abit but also got to remember tht this is someone business and income so not tht it totally makes you buy them but it’s not surprise to me there I’m game shop and not so much in drop files again I do get it it is shit when you constantly grind and get Fkall but again if items and books are me frequent tht it self will end up causing problem because there become so regular and decrease in value .

It also doesn't help high levels farming low level bosses for hp runes and crystals, pking and blocking noobs, when those same bosses drop books that are REQUIRED to progress in the game.

Firestorm, inferno, call of Phoenix, battle charge, frostfrenzy, are all books you NEED to progress. But the bosses that drop them are camped by 190+ players looking for upgrade drops.

Mate 190 lvls and the only ones I had dropped is battlecharge and frost frenzy but like I said I paid for my most my skills and if you don’t it rly can be a pain in the arse I don’t know maybe put them in be book shop and have the higher lvl books In drops.

Yes having bosses camped by all the high lvls is also very frustrating this has been a ongoing issue for a while cos for seem strange reason they seem to be the bosses tht drop hp the most something defo should be done with this .


Somewhere along the way yall forgot you constantly NEED new players in the game to keep the server fresh and alive. And without that it gets stale.
Nah fully need new players to keep it going but tbf this server has been going for 10 yrs now and plenty of people have come and gone It’s still going
 
Used to be a nice regular supply of books from Arena but that seems to have dried up. Might be a nice idea to put a big boost to drop rates in there, it would be helpful as a guild of low-mid level players could work together to gain stuff they can actually use, and it's a nice team building exercise at the same time, free from pkers who would prefer to see an empty server

That i feel is best way to go , that way its a guild effort for people in the guild , tweaks to the drops here wouldnt effect the server as a whole , thats why also I am trying to champion a weekly solo cave with a quest line theme which also could include class orientated books as part of drop files for either cache or your weekly solo boss drop .......
 
No they should not it's fully p2w, I went from level 153 - 190 in less than 4 days online time.
If this was in project 69 I'd be very very frustrated and upset I didn't level on that server for years just for someone to reach the same level in 4 days,

You should think about the f2p players who don't donate and had to grind months upon months for that level or two, how would they feel?
Would they be happy?

Also GG cave is far far more faster than you could even fathom you could make a level every 30minutes at lvl 154, if u was 154 outside event it would take 1-2 days to do that well solo it would take even longer

Now here’s the thing for me is plenty of new players want to be able to catch up or match ppl who have been playing for yrs just to make it fair? Now how is it any of our faults we stumbled upon this game before you did and grinded relentlessly for yrs just to be matched in the matter of months because it’s not fair ? Sorry but life don’t rly work like tht you put the work in to something if you want to succeed in it and works the same here.

I do get it is extremely frustrating I do I was tht low lvl when I first started thinking it’s bullshit just got to stick at it and sorry if tht frustrates you tht much maybe this isn’t the game for you💁‍♂️
 
But also I do get the drops are bad like something does need to be done about runes not a massive tweak so it becomes a common drop but something because they do just not drops at a good rate which is understandable because they are one of the best runes to have but 500gg for a rune is stupid spending 100£ just to do up a belt or helm and tht doesn’t count upgrading them etc and item drops are bad at the best of times. But but no more xp boosts is ridiculous.

You're missing the point. New players will not want to spend months levelling solo to catch up. I'm not saying making everyone 195 a cap at 180 in a GG cave would work. People can join in the hunts warrs, pk at that level. Kit is what is rare and shouldn't be handed out, I agree, and that is not what I'm suggesting. You say this is not the game for me. I have played Mir on and off for 19 years(I was here at the begging of this server and p69). I understand the grind, but who has the time these days to spend months solo grinding to catch up? CSpaceCowboy said it - YOU NEED new players in the game to keep the server fresh and alive. And without that, it gets stale. The mir community is small having people be able to catch up in levels(not all the way as stated) will give more of a chance to bring people to the server than asking them to grind months even to have a chance going on a group boss hunt joining pvp.

I'm not saying give people kit and max level im suggesting giving people an option to catch up to soft-cap, giving them a chance to play Mir with people, not alone, for months. It's an MMO after all.

People might use the cave to 160 and then grind normally. People might use it every now and again for a boost. Some might go all out and get 180(if that is the max level in the cave). The option would be good imo to bring new people up to speed

That i feel is best way to go , that way its a guild effort for people in the guild , tweaks to the drops here wouldnt effect the server as a whole , thats why also I am trying to champion a weekly solo cave with a quest line theme which also could include class orientated books as part of drop files for either cache or your weekly solo boss drop .......

I would suggest what gritt said instead to be honest. Or at least both.

I’m not saying guild or group hunt caves is a bad thing, because content is content, but group caves does nothing to help the solo casual player. My guilds have people in literally all time zones. Some are simply just solo players. This would punish them.

But again, this doesnt address the elephant in the room.

Level 190+ players killing lower level bosses for upgrades when low level players NEED to kill them for any chance at a book they need to progress in the game.

Again, this was brought up in the Runes thread months ago and still not addressed. Drops need a serious looking into across the board in my opinion. When level 190 players are camping/killing/pking over 114 bosses for upgrades something is obviously not right.

High levels should be helping low level players. Not pking them over bosses for upgrades.
 
I been thinking a bit and I have a few ideas for futureproofing and entising new players also keeping others happy.....(if such a thing exists;))

Auto char start on server with a perminant Skull Island exit any time or stay until kicked out at 150 as e.g.
DECENT EXP Buffs all the way to 160 to ensure leveling is faster ......
Skill learning quests 0-150 skills , complete quest get skill awarded , these can be short or little more demanding as you lvl
At 150 start a quest line e.g. Celestial path of reckoning a quest line that when completed at say lvl 170 gives you the possiblity to quest for celestial kit along the way .(cant be done by any 1 over 170) and the items cant be sold or traded but can be dropped or lost same as norm cele , this would give people chance to prepare prior to 180.
Sub 150 caves level locked to ensure boss camping by higher lvls doesnt happen. Can easy bypass 5 floors of top half of sitting loki with a NCP tele to start 6th. (I cant see any other reason for higher levels to be there apart from Rune Farming)
Rune NPC trades runes for DS Mythic esse gold etc e.g. you can buy a SC XL stone for and amount DS or some other currency gold etc

I know alot of the above seems like we handing stuff on a plate but its very hard to maintain new blood in the game or stimulate players to make alts to get a fresh look at a class or bring back the excitement of accomplishment..................
As we move past 195 and beyond the gap will only grow .....................................

Well thing is with Runes we dont have a Rune pulling tool or NPC for recycling runes if we feel like build changing etc , Runes where meant to used for endgame kit but the endgame moves all the time and the idea was hand me down kit via ah or to an alt etc this sort worked for a while but many new players found that they were still out priced or that they flew passed the kit level due to XP in events., plus factor in all the kit on people that just left the game that never trickeled down through the server ....
What the players and GM has to ask themselves is MarketPlace values how much do players rely on income from selling these runes today .......
Most save them for thier own kit some sell for quick buck , there will always be farmers campers etc its the nature of the beast its how we can find a solutions to it , past 160 you need to have some extra padang to your gear its how its achievable under the current market / drop rate .
Is it feesable to expect players to wait like 3 months to Rune an item .......(HP runes being my ref point)
Its a fustrating aspect of the game at the moment for many , maybe a NPC with a rune extraction service based on a 21 day cooldown or something , to be honest its a minefield all i know is many unhappy with the state its in at the moment......
 
Well wanna make runes and crystals not drop more but more available and still valuable?

Make a gg tool that's like 100gg to remove all upgrades from an item and put them in your bag.

That would completely kill the hand-me-down market. All that low level but nicely runed stuff that noobs rely on because they can get really cheap, would immediately vanish
