IE8 *shocked face* that's a 10 year old browser that's been unsupported for 4 years, you should really consider having a more up to date version, at least one that's in security cycle. Even if you don't use that browser, IE is an integral part of Windows so it has security connotations
 
I am wondering if this is because the patch url is being 301 permanently redirected to https and these older versions of IE just didn't have it enabled

That seems likely. But tbh anyone running a browser that isn't happy with SSL needs to buy a PC from the 21st century lol

Do you still see the https hits as 200's on your webserver after the 301? It's made me curious as that's exactly the kind of thing I monitor for on my webservers but never thought about browsers refusing connections. I'd guess it would still serve as a 200, it's not an issue anyone's ever come up with, old versions of IE (<11) represent less than 0.1% of our hits. Interesting nonetheless

Close Internet Explorer after applying the changes and run Mir again, the patcher should start downloading as normal. If you get any script errors during the patch, just skip them by saying "yes" as they are just web script errors for the web window and not patch files.

Good job man.. patcher now works, thanks alot... but now i cant get to the screen where i have to chose Arcadia or P69.. however when i try it with an older mir2.exe i can get as far as logging but getting kicked out cause of out of date client.
 
So my log in problem was cured after changing protocols on IE.
Could log on yesterday with no problems at all.

Today I go to log on and 2 mini patches d/l and then the screen goes to 02 03 20.png

So now back to square one again???
What happened after yesterdays patch up to now???

Is it the new image in the background causing the problem?
 
Yes I started this particular post re this box problem.
Many solutions have come forward and it was resolved on Sunday after changing protocols in IE.
Then yesterday as I stated I logged on 2 mini patches d/l and up comes the box again!
In the background you can see your new photo of PB.
It seems those images are the root of why the error occurs.

Why would the game load perfectly one day then some mini patches d/l and back to the box error again???

Seems like you havent even downloaded the whole game yet... have you ran the Run.exe first? > this file installs the mir.exe (patcher) which is needed to download the whole game including the latest updates.

Can you paste the error message from Internet Explorer here please so I can google translate. Whatever that message says is the problem, solve that and you will be able to run
