Elysian Orb

I simply asked the reason why an Ely Orb cant be added to my weap and if the reason was because its of Balor. The unique items was dropping before ely orbs where introduced in game. Ely orbs was stated they can be added to any 180+ item, didnt say it excluded unique items, hence why I'm asking if it's a bug or not. Correct everyone is hunting ely ore, I don't get your statement regarding that?
As far as I know, you can't place an Elys Orb into just any unique item. It's not a bug or anything it's just how the game works. You can message Game Master in private to confirm this.

It doesn’t matter whether the Elys Orb came before or after the unique item.

GM has confirmed that isn't a bug?

Getting confirmation one way or the other was literally the whole point of this thread, so if GM has commented on the matter somewhere else it would be very interesting to see it, as it would answer the question.

Please point us to GM comments, my search skills seem to be failing me on this occasion

Chill? I just want to know the answer lol. You said it's not a bug, I just want to know where GM said that cos I tried to find it and can't :(
 
There are certain tables that cant be overwritten the name tag of an item being 1 OF Something ... that name tavble has a next table table has the extra % of XYZ bonus stuff
the name table is blank until an item is imprinted with OF Something on the item at drop
A normal item has that table set as 0 not interger where you apply a Elysian orb to that 0 item it adds the Name tag OF Elysium and opens the the next table which is the 5% all resitance, what is needed is the 1st table to be be able to overwritten ie replace OF BALOR WITH OF ELYSIUM and call the next stats table (Column) on the Item its a small clitche bug in my eyes but maybe its a bit of a coding nightmare based on item code etc ....
Just my thoughts I dont know anything just dring beer eat kebabs and play MIr ...................

I'd love to see the actual schema for the database. If anyone has a vaguely working version that is likely to be similar to the arcadia database in structure I'd be very keen to take a look. I've got a lot of experience in designing databases professionally so may even be able to offer some pointers to help with stuff like this
 
Sort of figured this was the case but yet questing them to 198 is possible as the original name tag on item and id suffix doesn’t change surely a warning flag should be raised prior to all that work being put in that Ely orbs can’t be used on them p

Instead of having a weapon with 7 ice damage, 9 fire resistance, and 9 dark resistance, it’s going to be completely unbalanced, in my opinion.

Normal weapons typically only provide +5 resistance, even if you have additional stats on the weapon. For example, if I have a weapon with 5 holy damage, 9 fire resistance, and 5 ice resistance, and then I add Elys Ore, the fire resistance would jump to +14, with 9 ice resistance.

Having a weapon like that would be overpowered. I think the GM made the right call by balancing it.

Plus i don't think she did the hard work was someone else wep .

I didn't do the work? I upgraded my wep to 198 and bought another 198 wep, so yes I did do the work. With out adding ely orb to my wep I will still have 90% ice / dark and fire res resistance and 80+% holy/lightening resistance once I have ely orbed the rest if my kit so no loss for me. 😆😆😆 was just a genuine question.

Feel bad for anyone who paid more for something because it had extra stats without realising that those extra stats would be cancelled out in the future

I have a lvl 198 weapon with Ely Orb on , just it was not Of Balor etc , Some of my Ely orbed gear has plus 17% resist on - helm example rolled it with plus 7% extra fire resist then added ely orb then Dragon Gaurd , working on other stuff that will max resist where viable , it possible as i have done it in the past to roll an item with over 10% resist of a certain type but often the resist figure minus the damage type so you end with a high resist item with less ice fire etc damage...........
alot of past 180 gear has 2 or 3 resist colums to it armour etc questing these further adds more stats .........

Seen some players around with full orbed gear hitting 90% plus to all resists ...................

Yeah ive seen some peoples kits. Some has +17 resists lol. So adding to my wep wouldnt be massively OP considering. It's just a shame it can't be added to my wep, but is what it is. 😊😊

It's like having a wep with 12 holy and 9 ress plus the other ress u know the difference .
U will get 17 ress but low damage on them . That's the difference. Plus it's a weapon not helmet. I hope u got my point.
