So i have had to replace my pets countless times recently, and its beginning to grate on me.

While most have been from timing out and untaming I will concede doing stupid things like typing @slaughter to see what it does.... yeah, what a divvy!!! Bye another gorgon....

Anyway, not sure if the suggestion has come up before (probably) but would it be possible to leave your pets in SZ and the untaming countdown stops? If off on a guild hunt > 1hr then they have to come with or die. Problem is on a guild hunt they die and tbh wouldnt want them there.

Its not really giving any advantage as your not using the pets....

If thats not possible or considered an unfair advantage (of what i dont know), then would it be possible to leave them in SZ and retame using the pet icon in the corner while out and about? Your not getting any advantage of having the pets with you and the onus is on you to retame if you want to keep them.

I believe Nurture allows longer taming at max level, but not all of us are lucky / high enough to be able to do that.

Thanks for considering.

Coldanvil.

I always thought about this problem aswell, it would be a great quality of life.
When i get pets, and i need to afk more than a hour, i can't stay logged in because the pets will untame.. and by then, i can't just do like everyone else does, staying afk in game, then pop up, see what was been happening in guild chat, talk and socialize and then go back to afk or something else.

Doing this would be a great quality of life which i don't think it hurts anybody or harms the gameplay of the game in any way.

Gets a +1 from me, doesn't affect the gameplay in any way, but encourages people to stay logged in instead of logging out to save pets, which can't be a bad thing

I am completely reluctant to make any more changes to the pet taming system. The whole feature has totally lost its way. Partly due to "QOL" features like almost instant tame, extending tame time, and saving on log out. Also due to availability of super/champ/powerful pets like Gorgon.

The original point of eshock was to be able to grab pets while out on a hunt, if you were lucky you could train them up but they were always fickle and temporary. There's grown an expectation to almost have a pet for life. It really skews the balance and purpose of being a wizard away from actually doing magic

The pet storage inside arena MAY make an appearance outside but I don't imagine that being the end of the line for desired improvements - it just becomes another reason players want more features adding

Did you looked at pets dieing when try to extend time? Happened 3 times now ☹️☹️

Instant death has always been a feature of electric shock but will only happen if you are on attack all

Appreciate the response Andy.

Final comments from me on this - without pets, bossing is a long and slow (very slow) process. Which as a wiz opens you up to a lot of PK. The latest spell update with Nurture has been a massive help for me which I'm super thankful for!

I've not gotten it to level 3 yet, so perhaps retame times will be over 60-68minutes.

With the introduction of these super long caves (can easiler spend 3+ hours in the new RDD without finishing), where pets get battered, it could be nice to have a storage system - even if it costs some souls to deposit them perhaps?

As you say, we do almost expect to have them indefinitely now as long as we take care of them, which is different to how things were originally - but your whole server has evolved from original days, far more is different tnow :)

Thanks for the reponse Andy.

As you note the pet system has evolved somewhat as with many other things in the game. However, the storage system would only be for something that you already have tamed.

I would agree with NW that long hunts means your pets have to come along, even though you may not want them to be there, or, like many of my pets they wither and die from neglect (no retaming) before you remember they are still at home.

If a store was available that would be cool but I appreciate you have to consider if you want it ingame. As NW said, a reasonable charge of souls could be made so its not something that you take for granted, kennel fees can be quite expensive !!!!

I try to look at my pets as something I choose to try and keep for as long as possible, even with the responsibilities of taming, walking, feeding, picking up their dog toffee, cleaning piss off the kitchen floor every second morning, getting woken by pointless barking, garden has been ruined....

Sorry, digressing... :p

Bit off the pet subject , can’t dura pots timer freeze when sat in sz ? I find myself always having to logout to save the buffs ? Can’t see any harm in this . Works well with torches and it will work just as well with dura pots .

Just wondered if any body else had found any problem with the event supers and champ's. I had 5 tamed when I logged last night on timers over 60 mins and when i relogged this morning found that I only had 2 pets left with their timers on 24 and 39 mins remaining. I have retrained another 3 now but again logged out around 1pm ish and came back @ 3 and found 2 of the pets on 19 mins.

Just wondered if anyone else has noticed this? I've not tested this with normal mobs outside of the event.

Biggest problem for me is how easy it is to steal pets... The high level ones are so game changing when hunting in certain areas, the threat of a pet being stolen is 100x worse than the threat of pk. One simple eshock from an enemy and your pet is gone and your hunt is over until you can arrange a big group to help you go and get more which can be several days. It's enough to literally put me off playing with pets at all.

Stealing pets should be either impossible or a LOT harder
I'd rather get pkd and lose an item than lose a pet, which makes it so stressful when hunting as you're constantly on the lookout for people who just want to steal or kill them to ruin your day. Not fun at all.

Been playing on tao since I lost pets in that last reboot as I've not had time to arrange a big group to get more and it's barely worth using wiz without them. Might end up just sticking with tao if this isn't fixed :/

I cant see why wizzies think its acceptable to roll around with all there MC and range spells yet still cry to have 25k DC follow them around too, how the hell did you survive and get to the point you are today without the help of these pets? I know first hand wizz does not need this pets as i can smash most warriors on my wizzard without any pets, i can also kill most bosses yes it takes a bit longer but im also able to dodge bosses and less likely to be killed being a wizz its swings and roundabouts, as scorp said the pet system has gone way to OTT with wizzard feeling the need to rely on these pets, if anything the number of pets you can tame should be capped as nobody stands a chance vs a top lvl wizz with 25k DC on command amd lets be real those pets kill bosses alot faster then any warrior can, i think deep down you want to be a warrior zade but something tells me you dont have the cojónes to be that, be greatful for the pets you have in the time you have them is my advice just love and cherish them.... hope this helps 🤗

I can see both sides to the argument, no one can deny the new bdp pets are op af. Ofc wizzies are going to be upset if they loose them, or worse have the, stolen.

My only 2 cents on the matter would to change the taming requirement to “same level or below” as it makes no sense you can tame something higher level than your self

I manage just fine without them if they didn't exist, but they give a huge advantage to the players who get them, so it would be ridiculous for me not to use that advantage too

All I'm saying is the amount of work necessary to get them is quite high, and being able to lose them in 2 seconds to someone who just wants to mess up your day is unfair

If you needed a group of 10+ to do a 2 hour hunt to get you a para ring then anyone can cast one spell on you and its gone, you wouldn't be happy about it

Thats because you want specifically blue pets from RDD when theres lots of others to choose from that are more readily available, personally i dont see why any wizz needs a pets with over 2kdc as if u have 5 u still basically have 10kdc buffer, my opinion the rdd pets shouldnt be tamable atall, stick to hulks.

You're so focused on the DC, the 3rd most important stat... which shows how much you know about them
