Just curious to other peoples thoughts on it. Obviously we have all been hunting and trying to work out how to summon / gain acceess. We have all been storing up our shards etc thinking is it 3 or 5 that triggers the unlock etc?
It seems that yesterday we finally had the Rift open. We received a server announcement so EVERYONE knew.
This led to everyone who had a Shard in their inventory able to gain access to the KR. (more on this later).
The KR is a copy of Fox boss, which was slightly underwhelming if I'm honest, given that the images promoting this patch was very much spider based. It is also considerably under powered. Has 8mill HP which is fine, but it barely scratches you. Think it has 2k DC / MC? For a Tao with shield and high resistance, it didnt feel like any damage. Feel like this needs to be upped considerably (IMO). I was soloing it for first 5 or so minutes, and its definitely soloable if enough time. Perhaps similar timing to solo as cacadevil?
Anyhow, what then happened was a whole bunch of people get in and it becomes a huge PK battle (mainly Templar). Whilst I'm in Legends, those who know me know I like a PVP / fight as much as the rest of us, but the boss room and setup felt that there was an inevitable consequence. Just a bum fight with the likelihood that those who dont participate in pvp aint ever getting this boss, and those in guilds who do but smaller than the main 1-2 guilds, again aint ever participating in this boss.
I then work out, that actually only 1 shard is ever needed, as recalls are enabled in the map???. So all of the hard work and excitement of having a boss which was challenging to get to has vanished in an instant. You now just need 1 player in a guild to recall full guild for a PK fest.
PVP is a fundemental and arguably the most important part of this game. The whole risk/reward nature of the game stems from this. So this is not a moan. Just feels like the boss room could have been done differently with some skill.
So the experience for me was a bit underwhelming, ended up just fighting Brolly, TheSoul and Lucifer for 10 minutes in cave with TheSouls PC clearly struggling with the graphics of Weaver boss
