Do tao pets actually share player drop rate? I don’t believe they do. I remember if a pet got the kill in bdp the boss wouldn’t drop a power orb. If pets shared player drop rate this wouldn’t happen? Pls can gm confirm?

Also why do no pets use any elemental dmg?
All Tao pets scale from sc. bit boring. Surely each pet should use a different element to buff it instead of every pet scaling from sc.

This has always been the case , Tao pets increase with SC , In original Mir SC was basic multiplier then Skelly scaled with DC and Shinny with MC
Since the introduction of angel and elemental thus giving us 4 pets any other multipliers other than SC scaling would make it very OP
At 3k SC my pets are huge skelly having over 180k hp and hits like a truck perfect for pve , only issue i have is angels stil HP poor even at 3k SC and week defenses often she floats around inviting attacks from mobs and dont re activly move 9 out 10 times she 1st to hit the deck .
II see where your coming from but stacking elemental damage onto pets would make them insanely powereful late game ...

Also don’t forget your accuracy it does assist skelly etc with hits
Many forget this hence all Tao weapons etc have a large degree of it when dropped
I out of habit always fill in my accuracy and dc out old time habits

This old chestnut! I’m convinced all pets operate off the players base drop rate and do not benefit from any bonuses such as drop pots.

guess only way to tell would be to test. Find a mob that drops consistently the same number of items, then do player kill and pet kills and see if there’s a difference

I have I had pets kill and had very nice drops
He may have revised it after introducing extra Tao pets and archmons but old Mir I know that often if pet got last hit bosses didn’t drop
Think pets are flagged player but I do have a weird sense it’s different as get strange messages when fire kills a pet in epics etc
I ll try screen it its doesn’t flag player name in the error

Yeah I’ve seen that, it’s like your shinsu was killed by x action or something weird.

Would be really good for GM to confirm one way or another if pets have the same drop rate as the player including buffs or not.

Yes that’s the 1 as it’s flash messaged to you same as your pet was killed by evil kebab etc so one would presume they come under player centric actions
Agree some confirmation from GM would not go amiss

An easier test would be to go hunting for 30mins and check what gold you get, chuck on MidasCrown, MidasBrace x2 and GoldPotion and then see if the gold you yeild increases by 300% (whilst letting your pets do the killing)

You should notice a considerable difference and if you do, then you know your rates are included in your pets' kills... If it doesn't we are back to square one

GM has said many times that it's exactly the same whether the player or pet gets the kill, but nobody believes him and this topic seems to keep coming back for some reason

It's difficult to test that, because killing with pets vs without will kill at a different rate, so your exterminaton meter would be different and that affects your drop rate too

Thinking about it, the only truly fair way to test is to kill slowly enough that your extermination meter stays at 0, and do one run letting your pets kill everything and one run without any pets, and kill the same number of mobs each time. Relying on rough estimates (such as clear 1 room) won't be accurate enough, and will potentially lead to variances that will be exaggerated by confirmation bias, you'd need to either count the mob kills using the notifications window and scrolling back, or measure a precise % - watch it after every mob kill and start/end the count when it ticks over a 0.01%. This is the level of detail I always go to when testing stuff, which is why it takes so long to get good answers, but I am always 100% confident in my results. I am convinced GM is right on this one but if I get round to testing it properly I'll post all my findings and raw data so everyone can see and make their own judgements.

I appreciate that without some kind of notification in game it may always be something that players worry about, however, the way monster drops are applied requires a "player" to be involved. The player will be the pet's owner in this case.
