Spell book drops for under level 100

So my bro and I have been playing for just over a week now and hitting 100 seems to be fairly easy, getting books however, not so much.

With the exp buff on you rocket through most places from 40+ and don't come across much spell books, I've spent time in a couple of KR's relating to the level of the spell I need to come away with nothing but items after hours in them.

I suggest the rarity of those books is lowered or made available in higher level areas also so you can find them anywhere up to level 100 caves


Also does TaoHalfMoon-NIU work? or does NIU mean "not in use" which would have been good to know before buying at the auction :sour:

I would also suggest the that HP/MP X, XX, XXX bundles are added in BW store instead of having to tele to mongchon, took me a while to figure out where to get them :D
 
Go to snowbrook for big bundles, quickest because npc is right where you tele to

Books drop from mobs just as much as they drop from bosses, so just collect them as you level. Typically they drop at mobs around the level of the book so if you've already out levelled the area you're as well just buying. They go really cheap, if none in AH check traders in various towns.

So gonna ask here rather than make another thread. Was multi strike intended to only work for thunder bolt and not thunder strike. Seems like it should work with the stronger version?

I think it could be fun but wiz have too many fire and ice spells to also have to build lightning. Maybe it could also scale off ice damage?

I'm enjoying the changes to tao, I've only one book so far but already they feel way better to play. Can finally use DV again!

I do have concerns when it comes to level 4 spells. I think burst damage is already too high and will only get worse. Warriors at 180 have 10k health. This is too low imo and should be doubled.

If wars have 20k health then taos around 15k and wiz around 12-13? This is for level 180 for reverence. I think it will lower the overall need to socket health runes in armours. More baseline health could mean socketing health recovery instead would be better? Who knows.

These are just numbers I'm throwing out but I can see a lot of problems when level 4 spells are out. Fights are short as it is.

That might help but even grants, explosive amulet and purification have been hard to find. I did end up buying grants and purification but no sign of explosive amulet at all.
 
Just to give me some perspective how much time did you spend in each region? How many bosses would you say you killed in each?
 
On average I've spent between 1-2 hours trying to get drops in each cave, which is really joyful when there is little to no exp and hardly any worthwhile drops.

I've spent the most time in terror KR, i've sat in there and killed the bosses about 30-40 times and not seen a single spell book yet.

Could you remove the ability to sell spells books no longer usable? My own fault but thats 2 books now I've bought thinking it was a good deal only to find out that its been removed (Resist Fire) but I can see plenty of books in the auction house and it isn't obvious that they are not usable, at least TaoHalfMoon had -NIU in the name but they should be changed to something obvious and untradeable so they can only be sold to an NPC.
 
Also what is the realistic likelihood of a book dropping in an area that has become lower level?

E.g. toxic gas drops in PT which is level 65, which means I can no longer get the kill meter to boost drops.
 
Smart loot system is more likely to give books to those who don't have it than someone who does.
