sorry if this has already been covered before but if someone could just clarify for me it would be really appreciated.

Been killing Svaltus troll over the past few days trying to get thousand sword for my nooby tao (not a chance he can kill i can struggle with my level 145 tao) but i have not had one page drop im using as stated a level 145 tao who does already have the the skills ... is it just not going to drop as my char already has it / too high?? if thats the case how would a lower level get these skills as bosses like that are too dificult to solo at the correct / near level and the bosses are too loe level for any active players to even waste time group hunting .... same goes for loki ill occasionly hunt him on my higher level wizz to get books for my lower chars but never seem to get any drop ?
 
Svaltus cave as some other noob caves does not have red/blue(super) mobs. I cleared it with someone also looking for a book (confusion) several times and only normals spawn and the svaltus troll. No skills dropped.

I think you're refering to the lower level svaltus cave with the large troll. The svaltus troll who drops 1k sword is in crystalline passage (snowbrook). Where there are sub bosses (brutes) and supers/champs.

I have noticed since being a higher level I seem to get less drop for me than I used to. There are lower levels in guild always getting better drops than me.

I asked scorp if pets getting the kill would effect the drops and he said no. But a lot of people do rest their pets for the kill. I seen a post about pets getting the kill on baal challenge and stopping the challenge being completed. So that makes me think pets do in fact mess up your drop.
