Development Milestones & Ideas

I know you devs like to keep it a surprise to increase hype, but there is more hype created from having a forecasted milestone plan that the players can see. If a player is growing tired but understands in the next 6 months he can start building towards a major change it will give players more reasons to stay and have something to look forward to.

It's great seeing a lot of 170+ content, but let's be honest.. most of the recent content and the vast majority of the updates are tailored towards 90% of the servers population who dump ££ into GG every month. The business model needs to be slightly adjusted in order to dramatically expand the servers population.

At least provide a 6 monthly development forecast or the changes you are looking to implement, then let the community help drive these changes by providing input and feedback into the changes so they are more finely tweaked upon release. At the moment people are putting up suggestions and it's just a roulette of what's being chosen.

Look at pretty much EVERY MMO out there, they either beta test or have upcoming content teasers to entice players into playing.

There is an extremely large potential of more GG spenders, I feel the gap is far too large.

Example GG store ideas:
Level 120 Weapons, Armour, Jewellry, Gemstones etc
Level 130 Weapons, Armour, Jewellry, Gemstones etc
Level 140 Weapons, Armour, Jewellry, Gemstones etc

You may think, what's the point in adding more low level kit? People will buy it, get people committing to GG early on in the game to help boost their leveling you'll get more investment from them and commitment to playing as they're already investing money from the beginning so are less likely to quit.

I know from my own experience when I purchased GG from level 100-110, I felt like well I've already spent real ££ on this game so I better play it a bit longer to get my monies worth... and then hooked ;)

Also don't make these 120/130/140 items like 300-600GG each, that's just stupid.. do something realistic like 25-50GG to give people more reason to invest.

Subscription benefits:

20% Less durability loss
20% discount on special repairs
10-20% discount on vendor purchases
Additional HP/Mana Regen... I hate relying on my regenstones, it would be a massive boost having 100% HP regen from being a subscriber.
10% discount across certain products in the GG store

Also offer better discounts on larger subscription scrolls, the difference isn't worth it at the moment.

75GG for 1 month
150GG for 3 month
300GG for 6 month

Get people locked in and they'll feel reluctant to keep the sub going :) and by offering better discounts on larger purchases your going to get more people committing more upfront.

The more I write.. the more it feels I should have posted this on the suggestions section.

This ^^^.

I've been wondering for ages, how many new players are actually buying these items at 300gg+??? You can easily buy better items ingame now at a fraction of the price

During events they definitely sell. During D&D I made about 3k gg and 350m or so at level 139-140 playing while I was taking sales calls and sitting in conference calls.

Seen people spending insane amounts on gg.

Couple of bits to add onto this that could be cool:

Lvling milestone global shouts and prizes. Gold, scrolls, random boosts etc obviously lvl dependent
Starter pack: £20 starter pack of stuff around lvl 80, skills armour n wep maybe (could do another around lvl 120 also)

Thing is it’s so easy to level too 160 Now days , can’t really see Gm investing too much time with bringing out low level sets and starter packs etc . Seen people start playing in March and they’re now 160 and beyond Crystal gear is so so cheap now so can kit out in that and grind it out in these new GP levelling areas . Just need to put the time and effort in , If you’re lazy and don’t like levelling and the grind then maybe Mir isn’t the game for you ;p

Your kinda wrong there, no casual player with a family and a life can safely say getting to 160 is easy. Let alone doing it in 6 months, I've been playing since around then and no one I know, in my entire guild or any friends have achieved level 160 that quick.

You’re doing it all wrong then pal . See loads of players Achieve this and they hold full times jobs . Okay they may have excelled faster than normal due to the lockdown but it’s very achievable . I would actually say to any new player starting to not Invest to much GG on lower level Gear as will end up selling it in a few months , from what Iv seen there are 2 types of Players ones that moan and make Excuse and ones that Just get On with it and grind it out . Generally if you’re in one of the top guilds and the higher levels see you going through the levels quick they usually help you And sell you some Kit at a discounted price . It’s a lot easier than it used to be In all fairness . Mir is about grind it does take time . Never really come Across a Mir server where it’s really easy and if they are they don’t tend to last long.

Seems short sighted to me, EVERY single game I play on my phone is free but within a few plays there’s an option to purchase a starter bundle to give you perks to get started. If everyone is doing it , there must be legs to the idea.

So your basically saying that don’t enjoy the process of working through the levels and obtaining all the different types of items/armours/weapons etc you will obtain and use along the way. But instead spend all of your time levelling to reach an elite level and then focus your efforts on game gold and getting the final and best sets of items.

1. I honestly don’t think you really understood the original post in its entirety
2. You’re sounding very Elitist
3. He mentioned the challenge of levelling if you have a life, you and Zade both know the time that goes in to levelling with or without elixirs, we are talking hours of gameplay. If you are somebody with a family and different interests, levelling is not ‘easy’ it’s time consuming.
4. AlsirAl idea of packs I think is very good and some good points made by OP.

Disagree there are a few in my guild been playing as long as me and log in daily but have only just reached 160 were talking 18-24months, everyone's enjoyment of the game and style of play is different.

I absolutely think this is worth looking into for the gms they are spending a lot of time atm making this game more hospitable to new comers.

Been playing 18 months and only 163.

There's more to the game than just levelling.

I would have def looked in to a £20 starter pack when I was newer. Games can cost £60 for PS4 etc. Free game but with a £20 that gives you a wee bonus would probably sell

Yeah I guess we all have different playing styles , I was just pointing out the fact that the game has changed a lot with all the bonus levelling codes ,GP caves etc ,and it is achievable to get that level a lot faster so I do kinda think it’s pointless spending too much ££ on starter packs , The GM has made it easier to catch the higher levels to keep it competitive so there isn’t a huge gap ? Maybe release a new GG elixir (aimed at 150 below)that has stat increases and xp perks then noobs can save their GG for their kit at 160 and beyond ? I remember spending shit loads on grand gear a few years ago and regretted it and then just struggled to sell it it . So this new elixir could give You the temporary boosts up untill what ever level GM decides to cap it at .

You all have a point and some people do enjoy going through the gears a bit more slowly . If theres a lot of new players coming in that haven’t Played Mir before that enjoy the quests and exploring a bit more or can only get a few hours of game time a week then it could be a good idea I guess . I do quite like the apprentice/master idea where you can get some kind of perk for both players and maybe some Kind reward box once Completed have seen this on another server canÂ’t remember which one . Guess would need to find a way to do it without it being exploited .

Thanks for your ideas. Started pack(s) are a good idea. I think Subscriptions are already really good value and give ample benefits however.

As for updates the timing of this really depends on the current population, which is why there is never a set date. However I think we have delivered 2-3 main region updates a year for a long time now and you can expect that going forward. The same can be said for events, I don't recall a time we missed Xmas, Easter or Halloween for a 2 week event

There's a lot of loose ends at the moment due to spending a lot of time running events and rebuilding older content earlier in the year for the influx of players
