Dark/Fire chips?

Hi All,

Can anyone advise on what mobs drop the dark/fire chips? The upgrade guide says theyre in Past Bichion but its a big place :D I'm guessing they aren't as common as the snowbrook upgrade equivalents?

Cheers <3

Deeper floors = higher rates

Best chances are from blues/reds but people often just kill those so there won't be a lot around until someone clears the normal mobs.

What I tend to do when I need to collect them is clear all of thunder pass and lava cavern (all mobs, there will be a few blues but usually not much) then by the time I'm done the maps have fully respawned so I can go back to the start and run through again and get all the blues and reds that respawned thanks to my clearance. Make sure to have treasure stone and drop rate boost pot active and keep your extermination meter maxed as much as possible.

Doing all of that solo takes about 4 hours or so, and can usually get a L of each fire/dark.

If you don't have that much time to dedicate to it, just do that for thunder pass, and ignore lava cavern. Will take less than half the time and you should get at least an M of each and some change.

As an alternative, they do also drop in Planes (the 185+ GP cave) on all floors, but it's a fair bit harder in there depending on your class/level.

A small addition to Zade's detailed post. You can use quotas NPC out of MW Library, there is a cycle of quest bits you get doing small tasks, rewarding you quest bits, red and dark chips amongst them. (both obtained doing a task in Bugs Cave).

This issue is unsolvable. A lot of people are facing the same problem, but this is exactly the result GM wants.
It seems like GM has adjusted the drop rates. It’s not as easy to get as the stungem anymore. In the early days, it dropped a lot, which made many people socket XL gems into regular gear. Now, within a day’s cycle, you can only get two chips, and after that, no more will drop. Even if you use a drop buff, killing more red or blue mobs won’t give you any more. It’s like it’s account-bound, and no more will drop until the next cycle. How do you know? The system will notify you when the evilmir returns.

Sorry but this is not true at all. See my comment above

This is up there with the most mental conspiracy theories I have ever read! They have NEVER dropped at the same rate as StunGem, they use to be more difficult to get because the cave was actually the top level cave, and they use to have an expire date on them that increased with each upgrade. Plus as has already been mentioned, back then there was no hourly quest option available to grind them
